About
“The central job of schools is to maximize the capacity of each student.”
~Carol Ann Tomlinson
I come from family where education is important. Ironically, my grandfather has a grade 3 education and my father barely grade 12. Both became extremely successful men, yet cases like these will be almost obsolete in the coming generations. Everyone deserves a chance in life, everyone deserves an education. I believe the formula for success IS education.
Why do I care?
Basic Rights: Education should be a basic right in every country in the world. About 72 M children of Primary School age in the developing world were not in school in 2005; 57% of them were girls. Sadly, these are optimistic numbers. And, nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.

Passion: Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen. What are we waiting for?
Guilt: At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. I was born to a middle class family is thriving country, why am I the lucky one who has ample food and education? Why is it that I get to prepare the next 10 years of my life, where others do not know how they are going to get dinner?

Concern: My generation and the generations below me, will take the heat, having to deal with thousands of worldwide issues. It concerns me that without the education necessary to eradicate social concerns like global warming and AIDS we will fail.
